| 1 | lb. | diced ham | |

| 3 | ounces | picante sauce | |
|  | |||
| 2 | cups | onion, diced | |
|  | |||
| salt to taste | |||
|  | |||
| pepper to taste | |||
|  | |||
Soak beans overnight.  Mix together beans, ham, picante sauce, onion, salt and pepper;  bring to a boil; reduce heat to gentle boil and cook for 4-6 hours or until beans are tender.
